Search & SEO · India
In short: ecommerce SEO helps online stores earn sales from organic search. We focus on the pages that actually convert — categories and products — and on the technical problems unique to stores, such as filter URLs, out-of-stock items and duplicate product variants.
Definition
Ecommerce SEO is search optimisation for online stores. The principles are the same as any SEO, but the scale and structure are different: a store may have a few dozen category pages, thousands of products, and filters that can generate millions of URL combinations.
Most organic revenue in ecommerce comes from category pages — searches like “cotton kurtas for women” or “stainless steel water bottle 1 litre” — because they match how shoppers browse. Product pages capture specific, high-intent searches, and buying guides support both by answering pre-purchase questions.
Scope
Platforms
| Platform | Typical issues we fix |
|---|---|
| Shopify | Duplicate collection/product URL paths, limited URL control, app-injected scripts, thin collection pages. See Shopify development. |
| WooCommerce | Plugin conflicts, attribute and tag archives being indexed, slow hosting, unoptimised images. |
| Magento / Adobe Commerce | Layered navigation creating crawl traps, heavy JavaScript, complex canonical rules. |
| Custom / headless | Client-side rendering hiding content, missing metadata on route changes, sitemap generation gaps. |
Process
We tie organic landing pages to revenue in GA4 to see which categories and products matter most.
We map demand to your catalogue and identify missing, overlapping and underperforming categories.
Crawl waste from filters, parameters and duplicates is controlled so search engines focus on pages that sell.
Priority categories and products are optimised in batches, with results tracked per batch.
Buying guides, comparisons and PR-worthy assets support category rankings.

For most stores it is the category page. Category pages match the broader searches shoppers use when they are comparing options, and they link to many products. Strong category pages usually drive more organic revenue than individual product pages.
Only some. A filter combination that matches real search demand — such as “men’s running shoes size 10” in some catalogues — can deserve its own indexable page. Most combinations do not, and should be kept out of the index to avoid wasting crawl budget and creating duplicates.
If a product is temporarily out of stock, keep the page live, show availability clearly and suggest alternatives. If it is permanently discontinued, redirect to the closest relevant product or category when one exists; otherwise let it return a 404 or 410.
Yes, with a sensible approach: priority products get fully unique descriptions, and long-tail products get structured, template-assisted copy that still includes unique attributes. See content writing services.
Accurate product structured data and a clean product feed support free product listings in Google. Paid Shopping campaigns are managed separately, but good product data benefits both.
Yes. We work with online stores across India, including brands selling nationally and those shipping internationally from India.
